With some of her US tour dates re-scheduled due to an on going illness, let's talk about how magical Melanie Martinez's shows are, and how worth the wait it will be, by taking it back to her sold out Los Angeles show at the Hollywood Palladium!
Inspired a lot by Tim Burton, Mel has such a whimsical, but also dark way of telling stories, especially through her music and the imagery that she's created to go along with it. The start of the show begins with the opening track to her latest album, K-12, titled "Wheels on the Bus", and dancers flood the stage with Melanie following. The entire show takes the audience through the songs and world of K-12 with not only sights and sounds, but smells to match each number. For example, the song "Strawberry Shortcake" filled the room with the aroma of Strawberry Shortcake, and the song "Orange Juice", oranges, "Recess" smelled like PEZ candy and Baby Powder, and so on.
I won't ruin what happens after the final song of K-12, but let's just say, long time fans will absolutely love it.
Melanie's infectious energy, choreography, and the connection she has with her fans absolutely fills each room she performs in, and even if you're not yet a fan, you'll definitely enjoy the show and be able to appreciate all the hard work put behind it.
Melanie will be kicking of her European tour in December. Rescheduled US dates are listed below:
