On May 24th, the band who flew in from across the pond, Basement, and Philly rockers Nothing performed at Chicago’s Metro, along with Gouge Away. Gouge Away, a post-hardcore band from Florida, who are signed with Deathwish Co, began the show with a wild and energetic performance. Next up was Nothing, who in my opinion, are a little more laid back than Gouge Away and Basement, but I enjoyed their set nevertheless. Finally, Basement took to the stage, kicking off their set with “Nothing Left,” “Aquasun,” and “Disconnect.” Overall, the show was enjoyable and filled with three great pop-punk acts. Whether it be the Cubs game against the Reds occurring down the street or the Basement show, there was no denying that Wrigleyville had a buzz of energy.
