American Authors bring their joint tour Band of Brothers with Magic Giant to San Francisco

Even though it was a Wednesday night, a huge crowd came to see American Authors and Magic Giant perform on February 5th at the Fillmore. Before the show began, they played a disk drop game with the crowd to see which group would show off their talents first. American Authors was chosen by gravity and took the stage.

They began their set with “Believer”, which they released back in 2013. American Authors are from Brooklyn and are all very talented. Band-member James Adam Shelley is somehow able to switch between multiple instruments while continuously providing back up vocals.

Halfway through their set, they switched with Magic Giant, who then performed half of their set. The bands continue to change back and forth until each completed their sets.

As an encore, both groups performed three songs together to end the night outright. They sang “Window,” a Magic Giant song, “Best Day of My Life,” a song that was very popular in 2013 and “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes, who were an all-female rock band from San Francisco.

Both bands kept the crowd entertained and dancing throughout the night with their stage energy, catchy songs, and how well both groups were able to play off of each other.
